From rap to plug, from boom-bap to trap, from Afro beats to vocal melodies, this Paris-area native’s music has been constantly exploring genres ever since his first tracks were released on SoundCloud in 2018, without worrying about barriers or the labels people might attach to his music. It must be said that from a very young age, exploration has never been a concern for 8ruki, who, starting in his teens, set out to see the world as his mother allowed him to travel to different countries. First the United States, then Canada, followed by England for six months, and finally Switzerland for four months. A youth spent experiencing different cultures fostered an open-mindedness in the young artist that would have a lasting impact on his relationship with music.
