Four Tet’s first album is already over 15 years old. And if the Indian-born Englishman has been building an exciting cathedral of sound since the beginning, we can’t help but be impressed by the wave of insolent success he’s been riding in recent years, whether solo or thanks to his favorite B2B2B with Skrillex and Fred Again. Kieran Hebden (that’s his name in town) can boast collaborations with Thom Yorke, Jamie XX and Burial (his school chum, the legend goes), the development of his own Text Records label, on which he released his latest albums, Pink (2012), Beautiful Rewind (2013), Morning/Evening (2015), New Energy (2017) and, classiest of all, a new role as producer for outsized albums. 2023 marks the return of Four Tet with a new album in the pipeline.
