The furious, unhinged and instantly catchy electro-pop of 25-year-old Eloi, whose debut album Dernier Orage has just been released, offers a musical aesthetic made up of fast, even frantic rhythms. In her mid-twenties, she seems to carry with her a kind of adolescent fury that never really leaves her: rock guitars, techno rhythms, pop melodies: it’s all there.

She juggles between club-like flights of fancy and the playful, bubblegum hyperpop so dear to the English label PC Music, but it’s in French in the text that self-taught producer, composer and performer Eloi reinvents home-grown pop, in a clever, synthetic and inspired version.
