Elegant and majestic, L’Impératrice has six heads. Since the release of their first album Matahari, followed by two sold-out shows at Olympia and a tour that took the band to stages around the world, everything has accelerated for them. L’Impératrice has indeed retained a taste for dance, groove laid on virtuoso bass, vintage synths, and glittery melodies. But they have afforded themselves the freedom to explore other territories, to step aside with their second album Tako Tsubo. An album that earned them the Grand Prix du répertoire Sacem for international export, a nomination at the Victoires de la Musique, a worldwide tour in Europe, the United States, and Mexico, and two dates at the highly selective Coachella festival.
